I have three different scenarios walk into my office:
1. A 5 year old child that is quite old for their age, I can tell they have a lot of information swirling in their brain, I can only figure this out by asking questions to parents and to the child. They come across as easily distracted.
2. A 10 year old who would rather not really engage with me. Has lots of energy and can stare off into space and appear to be somewhere else. I see a little light in their eye and a slight smile on their face. Parents say their attention span is next to nil, however can come up with the most elaborate imaginative screen plays
3. A 3 year old child whose constantly rocking in their chair, rubbing up or leaning against things, and overall just cant sit still
All of them have been diagnosed with ADHD. Each so different. I love learning about #anthroposophicalmedecine as a way to treat each of these individuals as the unique humans that they are!
The approach not only has treatment protocols, it also is a way of understanding what each of these children are experiencing in their bodies, allowing parents to then connect with their child better and more effectively. Win win my friends.
Are you getting to know your children differently in this time and space given where we are at?
