Return to school: Anxiety or ADHD in School Aged Children

Anxiety often presents with nervousness and fear. Lack of concentration may come along with this yet it tends to come in certain situations where the anxious feelings are triggered. ADHD’s key diagnostic symptom is the inability to concentrate, sometimes with hyperactivity. The lack of concentration can be present in multiple different situations, outside of feeling anxious. Then there’s a blend of the two and both are involved - this is actually quite frequent.

Return to School: Kids Adrenal Health through Transition

And with leaves changing, comes school time! Often times this transitional time can bring about ‘stress’ on the body - both positive and negative! Take for example excitement… this can both be eustress yet also anxiety around the anticipation as well. There are many ways to support our children adrenal health as well as their nervous systems to make this transition as smooth as possible. Here are some pointers for supporting their transition back to school:

Naturopathic Fertility Care

My practise has ebbed and flowed in how I approach fertility support. From what I’ve learnt, from what I feel patients need, and from growing myself in practise and in life!

There are a few key areas I like working with fertility patients to support them in their journey.

Perimenopause

Often times I have 30-40 year old female patients coming in wondering if they are on the fast train to menopause-ville given their symptoms. Symptoms can present as night sweats (oftentimes located in the upper body/chest area), verrrrry moody cycles, sometimes irregular cycles, change in period flow, and lack of deep sleep.

Vitamin C

Fruits are not my main squeeze, no pun intended (actually very much intended and thought it was a rather smart one, no?) I feel as though the natural sugars don’t always serve us well - our energy specifically. However then enters my third child Isla, who we’ve deemed the snack queen and alllllll she ever wants to eat is fruit! So my temperature has changed and so has my perspective.
